Vi ser det hver uge: hunde, der kommer ind med kraftige filtre, fordi børstning derhjemme ikke er blevet gjort — eller ikke er gået helt i bund. Filtre handler ikke kun om udseende. De kan være ubehagelige, smertefulde for huden og efterlader ofte groomeren uden andet sikkert valg end at klippe pelsen kort.

Vi er ikke her for at dømme — vi er her for at hjælpe.

This little Lagotto is on her second grooming session with us — and what a difference already 🤍
Lagottos are wonderful dogs, but they’re also known for being very sensitive and nervous when it comes to grooming. They need regular maintenance, patience, and time to avoid matting and stress.

When she first came to us, she didn’t like water, didn’t like handling, and was constantly jumping and reacting. Grooming was overwhelming for her, and we had to slow everything down and focus first on trust, settling, and positive experiences.

Sometimes the cutest dogs — puppies or adults — react from instinct when they feel unsafe. That can look like screaming, snapping, or biting. And this is where homework at home really matters. It helps your dog feel safer, helps us do our job properly, and can prevent dogs from being turned away from grooming salons altogether.

Many dogs are unfortunately refused by groomers because we simply cannot work safely with a dog that is extremely stressed, reactive, or trying to bite — for the dog, the groomer, and even the neighbours.

With this little girl, we take things slowly and intentionally. She’s booked manually so we can choose quiet times, give her extra space, and work one-on-one without pressure. And you can already see the progress — she’s calmer, more comfortable, and building trust with her groomer.

We share these stories not to judge or expose anyone, but to educate, create understanding, and show that with patience and the right approach, there is almost always a good outcome 🤍
