How We Handle Hand Stripping at CPH Pets Club At our salon, hand stripping is always adapted to your dog’s comfort and your preferences as an owner! We don’t rush — if a session is listed as 2 hours, it may take a longer or shorter time depending on your dog’s coat, mood, or stress levels. To avoid unnecessary waiting, we’ll send you a text 30 minutes before your dog is ready for pick-up. Our priority is always to make grooming a positive and stress-free experience. In rare cases of extreme nervousness, stress, or aggressive behavior, we may ask for an early pick-up. For anxious dogs, we recommend booking a one-on-one slot during late afternoons or weekends. You may also consider a calming paste or discussing mild medication with your vet to help them feel more comfortable. Two Options for Appointments ✅Stripping + Bath (Same Day) •We hand-strip the coat, then give your dog a gentle bath & blow dry in the same session. •Perfect if you want your dog clean and ready to go home the same day. •Please note: because the skin is sensitive after stripping, we use only mild, hypoallergenic shampoo and avoid heavy perfumes. Some redness or itchiness may still occur. ✅Split Appointment (Stripping + Bath Later) •We hand-strip in the first appointment (no bath). •About 1–2 weeks later, you return for a separate bath & tidy. •This gives the skin time to recover before washing and is ideal for sensitive dogs or those prone to irritation. •Both appointments are booked and paid in advance, please send a email after booking to info@cphpetsclub.dk to accommodate your double appointment. ✅What’s Included in Hand Stripping •Main Coat Stripped by Hand (to preserve texture) •Hygienic Areas & Paws → done with scissors/clipper for comfort and efficiency •Scissor Tidy → Ears, face, tail, or other areas where full stripping is not required or practical •Optional Bath (same day or later, as explained above) ⚠️ Please Note We do not offer 100% hand-stripping of the entire body unless specifically requested. Standard service is a blend: approx. 60% stripping, 30% scissors, 10% clipper. This balance keeps the coat healthy while keeping the dog comfortable and the session affordable. If you prefer pure hand stripping only, please let us know in advance so we can plan extra time and discuss pricing.
